Ingredients
- 3 cup Cake flour, sifted
- 1 tsp Baking soda
- 1/2 tsp Salt
- 4 Egg
- 1 cup Butter, 2 sticks, softened
- 2 cup Brown sugar, tightly packed
- 1 cup Coca-Cola, classic
- 1/4 cup Rum, dark
- 1 tsp Vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup Milk, whole
- 1 cup Coca-Cola, for the sauce
- 1 1/2 cup Sugar, white, for the sauce
- 1 tbsp Light corn syrup, for the sauce
- 12 tbsp Butter, for the sauce
- 1/4 cup Rum, dark, for the sauce
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 325 degrees. Sift together the flour, baking soda and salt. Liberally grease a standard bundt pan.
- Beat the eggs with an electric mixer in a large bowl. Gradually add the butter and brown sugar and beat until creamy. Beat in the cola, rum, vanilla and milk.
- Gradually add the flour mixture, beating constantly until smooth. Pour into the pan and bake 45 to 60 minutes, until done. Cool and invert onto a plate.
- For the sauce, bring the cola, sugar and corn syrup to a boil and cook, stirring often, until it thickens. Off the heat stir in the butter and rum.
